V červenci proběhl v Brně AEGEE event roku! O co že šlo? No přece o Letní univerzitu, jejíž organizování má v moravské metropoli dlouhou tradici. Letošním tématem byla historie a kultura kraje a připravený program byl opravdu nabitý. Všech třináct účastníků ze sedmi evropských zemí se mělo na co těšit – v prvních dnech se účastníci seznámili s městem, v Muzeu romské kultury se dozvěděli něco o zdejší oblíbené menšině, v krytu 10-Z si prohlédli přípravy na atomovou válku, na Mohyle míru vzdali holt jednu z největších Napoleonových vítězství a v Lama centru se seznámili s revitalizací krajiny zničené těžbou. Kulturní část programu zastupoval folklorní večer realizovaný krojovanými až ze Střelic, exkurze do pivovaru a ochutnávka vín v tradičním moravském sklepě. Zlatým hřebem byl již osvědčený výlet do Mikulova a Lednice, kde si krom prohlídky nádherných památek prošli účastníci také stezkou odvahy a zúčastnili se bowlingového turnaje. Ze sociálního života pak na účastníky čekala kromě nezbytné Evropské noci, také 80. party, pub crawl nebo již proslavená šalina party.

In July the AEGEE’s event of the year took place in Brno. What are we talking about? No other than the Summer University, which has a long-standing tradition in the Moravian metropole. This year’s theme was the history and the culture of the region and the program was fully loaded. All thirteen participants from seven European countries had a lot to look forward to. During the first days they got to know the city. In the museum of gipsy culture, they learned something about one of our minorities, they saw the preparations for the atomic war in the 10-Z shelter and they were introduced with the revitalization of the country destroyed by mining. The cultural part of the program was presented by folklore night which was led by folklore ensemble from Střelice and field trip to brewery and also winetasting in the traditional Moravian wine cellar. The highlight was the trip to the Mikulov and Lednice, where beside on looking at beautiful monuments, participants crossed the path of courage and finally they participated in the bowling tournament. Their social lives were completed not only by the traditional European night but also an 80s party, pub-crawl or the famous “šalinaparty”.
