How much does the Summer University cost?

Affordability is one of the basic requirements for Summer Universities. Prices range between 77€ and 98€ per week – depending on the type of summer university.

This price includes:

  • accommodation
  • at least two meals a day
  • all transfers within the programme
  • entrances within the programme (admission to museums, events,…)

The type of accommodation varies from one university to another, but it is usually cheaper and simpler: halls of residence, hostels, AEGEE members’ houses, gyms, tents, etc.

Not included in the price:

  • transport from your home to the venue and back
  • travel insurance

The organisers also include an optional part of the Summer University programme for an additional fee, which includes a special activity – for example, an extra trip, bowling, canoeing, wine tasting, etc. Optional fees range from €10 to €40.

How to apply for the Summer University?

  1. Fill in the electronic application form for membership in AEGEE-Brno on our website – section Application to AEGEE. (Note: you only need to confirm the application once, if the confirmation disappears, it’s OK, it has been sent. This is not mandatory, now you just need to register on the intranet).
  2. Pay the annual membership fee of 500 CZK. Either by bank transfer to 2500122732 / 2010 or in person at one of our meetings. By sending your application form and paying the fee you automatically become a member of AEGEE-Brno. Please indicate your name when making the bank transfer.
  3. Sign up on the AEGEE intranet (on the left under Need account? Sign up!). If you have paid the membership fee, we will confirm you and you can start applying. Take the confirmation on the intranet (you will receive a password by email) as confirmation of receipt of your payment.
  4. Choose one summer university you would like to go to. The current list can be found at www.aegee.org/su under Application – List of Summer Universities. Click on any of the summer university names to find detailed information about the price, accommodation and programme.
  5. Prepare a cover letter in English (max. 2500 characters) for each university you have chosen. Remember that a cover letter that is too long is more likely to put the organisers off.
  6. Fill in the online application form at www.aegee.org/su under Applicatiton & Procedures – Fill in Application Form. The login details are the same as for the intranet.
  7. Now just wait for the results of the selection. Good luck! Remember, you have to do all this before 24 April 2021, so don’t leave it to the last minute!

The application process for the Summer Universities runs from 15 March to the end of April 2026, and the list of Summer Universities has been published for some time. Registration on the intranet is open all the time.
